I’m currently in the process of reading this for the… I think third time(It’s difficult to be certain when I haven’t finished the second run yet), and in spite of my ability to remember things I’ve read, I’m still surprised/impressed by some of the verbal metaphors in these pages.
To use this page as an example: “Hasn’t got a shadow anymore” is probably the most fitting euphemism for death that I’ve ever heard from a child, shadow-born or otherwise.
Hmm, maybe Shadowchild has a promising career ahead as a field triage assistant …
