The last panel is insanely well done, so simple style, yet so full of sorrow…
This is a story that needs to be told. Not just to Digger. To everyone in our world.
It’s amazing how much emotion you can put into such simple images.
A common reaction for victims of domestic abuse. To stay.
I love the cave painting style of Ed’s stories …
🙂
Also important to remember that in our world it also happens to men. They’re just less likely to report it.
Very, very true.
devil’s waltz by Erin McKeown fitting.
As I started reading this story of Ed’s, my music player started playing Chad Kroeger’s “Hero”.
It then went on to play Three Day’s Grace’s “Never Too Late”, and is currently half-way through “Shout” by Tears for Fears.
That last, I think, is probably the most fitting song for this story that I have in my entire musical library.
“Shout” is a good one, I agree – gave me a shiver.
I think “Luka” by Suzanne Vega works pretty well, too.
Isn’t it interesting how a “random” shuffling music player can sometimes pick just the right selections from your collection?
🙂 (just a regular smiley here, because a wink or a big “mrgreen” grin just seems inappropriate to the context … )
