“Stop thinking about throwing up” is exactly right. I have textural issues about a couple of foods I otherwise like — I can eat them just fine as long as I don’t think about how they feel in my mouth!
I have a hard time imagining a mole gamboling. It just ends up looking like a mome wrath without the curly nose (from the original Alice in Wonderland illustrations). Moles don’t seem much more able to gambol than platypode or beavers, and only a bit more than a fit groundhog. But the gamboling psedomole in my head is cute!
I really love Digger’s line in the second-to-last panel, and will be memorizing it for use in conversation.
*cuddles the velvety soft moles*
moles really are velvety soft. *pets a mole*So cute too!
I am overcome by a vision of happy, velvety moles, gamboling.
I was also in that happy place for a second, but unfortunately it just triggered my “Duncton Wood” flashback. Horror, oh the Horror….
It’s the vomit loop! It’s like the giggle loop, only messier.

“I’m in my happy place, with moles.”
Adorable!
I get the impression now that wombats probably have pet moles, meaning that wild moles really are functionally equivalent to wolves.
Could not get through Duncton Wood…. Wanted to bash my head in eventually…
“Happy moles. Gamboling …. I’m in my happy place. With moles.”
Excuse me while I giggle uncontrollably for a few minutes…

I love the way BCM’s canines show on the last pannel, fang-like.
