The problem with prophecy is that most of them are self full filling. Vague enough in language for them to be interpreted as common events, so that no matter what you do it appears that you are a Pawn of Prophecy, the only way out is to not hear the prophecy in the first place, so Digger is on the right track.

Poor slug traveled FIVE days to get on that rock. Think of all the dangers it faced, Drying out, birds, people not watching their feet, etc.
