…. She looks like Snoopy!! OMG! I only just made the connection today! When I first saw this page I was like “that looks somehow familiar” and now I know why!! *cackles* Awesome!
Slugs and snails make ink out of a mixture of shellac (which is secreted by beetles native to India), soot, and slime. They then soak long, narrow pieces of absorbant moss in the ink and wrap them with bark, resulting in very servicable markers (though they have to be wetted with slime regularly to keep from drying out). It’s quite a cottage industry among land gastropods (calling it a shell industry would be discriminatory against slugs). Sea gastropods simply employ cephalopod scribes. Freshwater gastropods are out of luck.
Sadly, the fish-hat and balloon must remain a mystery for now.
Maybe dig Ed an art gallery if her shoulder feels up to it.
Poor fish, on top of being relocated to the rapids, it never got a slice of earthworm at its own office birthday party, and the gag gift of the air balloon was pretty cruel. It’s a good thing for the others that fish can’t use underwater matches.
@Rags: The only part of her body her clothing covers anyway is the back, and she’s lying on that now anyway! still, it’s Donald-duck syndrome- doesn’t wear trousers, and yet covers himself from the waist down with a towel when exiting a shower.
besides, I don’t trust Donald_ given real life duck reproduction I wonder about his “nephews” and exactly what their true relation to him is anyway…
That fish is fit for festivities.
I love how relaxed Digger looks. Makes me feel jealous. 😉

Happy birthday, fish!
“…happy birthday to me. Happy birthday to me…”
Eep! Naked wombat!
Who needs pants when you have a bristly armor rump?
Digger looks so adorable here! And only a wombat would think that digging someone a spare bedroom is relaxing.
How did the fish get this hat and ballon?
How did the graffiti-ing snails from a while back get their marker pens?
The less you think about it, the saner you’ll be.

@ Areetsasaurus Are there any sane digger readers? I love the fish and the line “dig Ed a spare bedroom”
