    🙁 awwwww Ed.

  2. Tindi says:

Ed’s not the only one who needs a hug… but give him another one from me, Digger.

Hello! I’ve just found this wonderfully done comic and am currently working my way through the archives. I just have to say that I think Ed is the most sympathetic character I’ve ever seen in a webcomic. Just looking at his sad face makes me want to cry sometimes! Very powerful artwork.

  4. Cait says:

Poor Ed, he needs many, many hugs.
Although I do wish he would stop making me sniffle.

  5. Domino says:

okay, wow, I had to stop reading the comic for a moment…the last two pages started with ‘aww, poor Ed’ and went beyond that to, ‘wow, this is really sad.’

  6. Squeegy says:

    Ed is adorable.

The most commonly posted comment to this webcomic:

    “awwwww Ed.”

    😉

  8. Hunter says:

Why would he think that Digger doesn’t want to be friends with him anymore? She WANTED to take him along. It’s Grim Eyes that didn’t want him.

  9. Pangolin says:

Based on the spoiler-comments of past posters for much older installments, we know Ed seems to have a terrible secret. Based on that I assume he thinks the tribe will have since explained why he was exiled and that Digger will want nothing to do with him after that.

  10. Ryn says:

    @Tek: It really is.

  11. Emma says:

    Oh god, Ed, Ed, Ed!

  12. Lica says:

@Pangolin Ouch! Sorry for the spoilers. But to be fair all that you said could have been inferred from the story itself by this point. (No spoilers ahead!) Ed name was eaten and he was exiled, and the genesis story of the hyenas shows that having your name eaten is quite a terrible punishment (it was given to He-is for a terrible crime, after all). Also when Digger met the Hyena hunters for the first time it was made clear that for some reason Ed was seen as a pariah and the solely idea of having any kind of relationship with him was seen as an obscenity… Yet Ed is shown as the most noble, sweet and caring Hyena guy ever. Obviously there’s something we don’t know there!

  13. JET73L says:

Yes! Ed is Ed! : ) He could still use a soft, warm blanket and a cup of tea, in my opinion : (

…and if you work it out before it’s made apparent later in the plot, the shock of the realisation WILL break your heart. That’s not a spoiler, that’s a promise. It’s remains to this date my only real-life experience with the Trope “Go Mad For The Reveal.”
