DREAD PIRATE QUEEN:
Oh, better far to live and die
Under the brave black flag I fly,
Than play a sanctimonious part
With a pirate head and a pirate heart.
Away to the cheating world go you,
Where pirates all are well-to-do;
But I’ll be true to the song I sing,
And live and die a Pirate Queen.
For I am a Pirate Queen!
And it is, it is a glorious thing
To be a Pirate Queen!
For I am a Pirate Queen!
CHORUS:
You are!
Hurrah for the Pirate Queen!
DREAD PIRATE QUEEN:
And it is, it is a glorious thing
To be a Pirate Queen.
CHORUS:
It is!
Hurrah for the Pirate Queen!
Hurrah for the Pirate Queen!
DREAD PIRATE QUEEN:
When I sally forth to seek my prey
I help myself in a royal way.
I sink a few more ships, it’s true,
Than a well-bred monarch ought to do;
But many a Queen on a first-class throne,
If he wants to call his crown his own,
Must manage somehow to get through
More dirty work than e’er I do,
For I am a Pirate Queen!
Well, “glorious dream” would at least get you to the right vowel sound, even if the terminal consonant is still not quite right. But that shifts the meaning of the song a bit, unless you consider it in the “dream realized” sense.
Oh, like Ursula wasn’t warped enough, now you had to go and draw Gilbert and Sullivan to her attention. *shudders* Pratchet, Adams, Monty Python, general geekiness, and now educated and illuminated madness.
*wanders off singing “With cat like tread, upon our prey we steal” at the top of my voice*
Yarr! pieces of eight! No, seven… no, six. Well, I don’t be using that hand much anyways Yarrr!
(also, has anyone else started to think that old posted comments are vanishing? Or has sleep depravation just made me paranoid again… I’m sure I’ve already posted the above joke since the site re-launch)
“Leper Pirates”! LOL! Ursual, your mind is not just twisted, it is quite actually sprained! (With hat-tips to Douglas Adams.) 🙂
Theme song of The Rotting Dogs; Patsy Cline’s “I Fall to Pieces”.

(Yes, I know it doesn’t rhyme any more. Ideas?)
Damn, missed the pronouns.

Something about ‘steel so keen’ might work.
The punchline on this page really got me.
“They retired to a nice little tropical paradise”
Probably a Leprosy colony in Hawaii!
Wow. Now my brain is singing at me…

@ Jan: Nah, Moloka’i isn’t a leprosy colony anymore, if that is what you were talking about. Then again, it depends on the time period this is set in…
SO. CUTE.
Naler, I suggest reading your commesnt over again. and thinking about what you’re saying
