Interesting: I always presumed the Shadowchild to be female, or something close to female. I severely doubt it has either gender or biological sex in any sense we’d understand, but I imagine its VOICE to be female. Weird that.
I’ve just thought of it as a “child”, really. You know that age when you can’t really look them apart without undressing them and they all have that funny light childish voice. Which fits well with its genderlessness, I guess.
