The ‘no dream’ part is the only thing I just can’t like about Ed. It makes me want to punch him on the nose (luckily, I’m no wombat, so it wouldn’t hurt that much), although I can understand where he’s coming from. It’s just, I live for fun and dreams. Daydreams, nightmares, and all the beautiful in-betweens. I consider dreamless sleep a waste of time.
Ed is too cute to really punch, though, and if we got into an argument about it, he’d probably win, too. I’m not un-philosophical, but I really can’t compete with Ed.
There have been times in my life when I lived for dreaming, and my boyfriend even joked that I was the living embodiment of L.T. from “Go Get a Roomie”. There have been times when I had nothing but nightmares and the occasional dreamless sleep.
Having seen both sides of the coin, I’d probably go with “pleasant dreams, if you dream at all.” (I usually just go with “sleep well.”)
Somehow, even just the “no dream” bit has me going ‘aww, Ed’.

Ellemerr, given what happened to him, I doubt he ever has pleasant dreams.
Another piece of the unexpected but persuasive Ed philosophy: ‘dreams’ may be good or bad, but you know where you stand with ‘no dreams’.
