Anyone here remember a poster of a mouse flipping the finger to the falcon that was about to grab him in it’s claws? I think it was titled “The Last Great Act of Insolence”
Whereas I do remember that SGV has, well, a lot of cold servants lying about ready to do its material bidding. That’s the power it has, and Ed and Digger will have trouble with them… THEN we’ll switch back to the surface. 🙂
Put me in the “If you had power, you would’ve used it by now” camp. Sweetgrass Voice talks a good talk, but the only fight we’ve ever seen it in, it was beaten by a *baby*. So, no, right now I’m voting it *doesn’t* have power to destroy digger (directly).
No, the trouble is, tomorrow I go on vacation for a bit of over a week, and where I’m going I may not have any kind of net access, though I will be packing a computer, just in case…
Digger knows that if she keeps him talking, that yes, he pretty much is powerless. This is the power of the monologue! If you tell me all about your warped demon childhood, personal disappointments, and driving angsts, then you won’t have the time or energy to stop me from thwarting you.
I think it was pretty smart to envoke Shadowchild here. It’s reminding SGV of its last defeat. She’s throwing it off it’s game…I hope? No SGV will do something rash and the good guys will get the upper hand…right?…that is right isn’t it?
Yes, for the next 50 years there will be nothing but an endless stream of flashbacks that Digger will be compelled to hear; from SGV’s forray into vaudeville to its knitting classes and bonsai collection!
After a culinary accident in which SGV was rudely expelled from Hell’s Kitchen, SGV learns that it can exude various cooking sauces and seasonings from its extremities.
“Fool! I should have destroyed you when I had the chance!”
Sweetgrass Voice isn’t huge on avoiding cliche, is he/she/it? I’m guessing its next move will be to kill one of its henchmen for no reason, then put Digger in an easily-escaped deathtrap.
Aaaand I’ve caught up. Just in time to witness the conclusion, that will now be excruciatingly stretched in time, compared to the binge I’ve been doing :p But I’ll live, I guess.
Of course, the comic is wondrous, thank you so much Ursula for all you’ve done. ^^ This one’s probably the deepest webcomic I’ve read so far.
Unbeknown to Digger, Sweetgrass Voice has yet to unveil his mighty talent for shadow puppets. They are so good that Digger will need to fight the compulsion to repeatedly ask SGV to do Deformed Rabbit because “it’s his favorite”.
SGV’s only power: Lying without speaking an untrue word. I get the feeling that the answer to SGV’s “Do you think me powerless?” should be ‘Yes’. Only by believing it to have powers, fell and terrible, does it actually have such things.
Okay, I know I’m being a little slow here, but when do we find out SGV is called SGV again? It seems like he was suddenly being called that in the comments and I missed if it came up in the comic itself.

Unbeknownst to Ed and Digger, SGV can hear the theme music, and change it at will. He can make other hear it and even inflect upon people unflattering LEITMOTIFS! They will be doomed to spend the rest of their lives with the opening strains of “It’s a small world after all!” and “The hamster dance” playing wherever they go, to the annoyance of all! They will be shunned SHUNNED! I TELL YA! SHUUUUNNNNNEEDDD!
