  1. Luna says:

    Ooh, yay! More Veiled guys!

  2. BoB_Spldbckwrds says:

i hate it when that happens

  3. inlaid says:

It’s all too easy to start thinking of the veiled as the badguys and this reminds you nicely that you shouldn’t. Good lines Ursula.

  4. Kayru says:

Agreed. Until now I’d been under the assumption that they were all aloof like Murai.

  5. SirEel says:

I’d been working on the assumption that most of them just do what they are told…

  6. Rhio2k says:

    What an odd world.

  7. Unclean one says:

This comic reminds us all just how hard it is to serve every god at once. And that guard
mooks aren’t all as evil as we like to think.
Can’t wait to see where the story leads us.

  8. Hawk says:

Thank you Ursula for showing us that the Veiled are individuals πŸ˜€
Thank for not taking the easy way and letting them be faceless ciphers, as so many do when dealing with any large group or organization.

This just gets better and better! It really makes my Tuesdays and Thursdays to be able to follow this great story and amazing artwork!

  9. JewelWolf says:

Tuesdays and Thursdays are the only reason I’m not an emo! πŸ˜€

  10. nano2ba says:

This comic deserves a TV cartoon like Fullmetal Alchemist got. It’s that good.

  11. Jim Lane says:

“Leaf me alone, you brute!” *hahaha!!!* Wonder how long it took the slug to (like a snail) cuss out the transgressor? *snicker!*

  12. Persephone_Kore says:

*falls over giggling* “I apologized and got him another leaf!” I love this.

  13. Rowanmdm says:

I love how Digger’s eyes are squeezed tightly closed, b/c you know that really helps people not see you.

And yea, the return of the oracular slug! Even if it is only in conversation.

  14. I’m waiting for the Action Figures to come out complete with the Ganesh Temple Action Play set. Christmas is coming.

  15. JewelWolf says:

I think Digger’s eyes are scrunched in exasperation. She’s thinking about the oracular slug cussing out one of the veiled.

  16. wolfofsilver says:

*Is still snickering* Nicely said, Inlaid… (And of course it does, Rowanmdm! πŸ˜‰ )

  17. Tindi says:

I agree with JewelWolf; I thought Digger’s expression was more of a *facepalm* without the palm. πŸ˜›

  18. Werrf says:

I’m rather more interested by the implication that the veiled are strangers to the area as well.

  19. EveryZig says:

Maybe things in the city they were recruited from are less strange (or a different strange) than the area they are now in. Or perhaps Jhalm has called them in from another area as reinforcements (there IS a sinister subterranean menace around after all).

  20. Mark Antony says:

Maybe they’re not used to being in the forest. They could spend most of their time in the temple, where you don’t get many mysterious voices aside from the growling vegetables.

Did I really just utter that last bit without the slightest trace of irony?

  21. Evie says:

I mean really, what can you do. Honestly.

  22. 84 says:

i love that he got the slug another leaf instead of just smooshing it.though now i wonder what the other leaf said…

  23. TekServer says:

    > Digger’s expression was more of a *facepalm* without the palm.

Well, yeah, that makes sense. If she were to do a full facepalm, she’d squish Surka!

    πŸ˜‰

  24. Vera says:

Ok, I think I now have a new favorite Digger panel (the bottom one) — my previous favorite was Shadowchild explaining its origins (as far as it knew them) to Digger (Dead. Bird?). I am still snickering over this one! “Got him another leaf.” HA!

    πŸ˜€

  25. BunnyRock says:

In addition to the face palm without the palm and screwing up eyes to better which that you will not be seen, can i add that to me Diggers face made me think of the following internal monologue.

“There’s a shrew on my head. Someone I respect and a fighter and a friend just climbed up my face and is standing on my head. A Troll and former pirate just ran up my face, and now is using me as a living observation platform.

I knew there would be bits of this i wont be able to mention when i get home or they’ll commit me, but if i said that a shrew-toll climbed up my face to spy on two warrior-monks talking about the slugs they’d offended, then I honestly wouldn’t blame them. “

  26. Labelleizzy says:

yay, more of BunnyRock’s imaginary internal monologue!!
    *happy dance*

  27. BunnyRock says:

    : )

  28. Elkian says:

XD Apologizing to a slug…I think these are the same guys that Digger threatened earlier
