I love how logical Murai is, even if she IS insane.

  2. Haven says:

The pointed-up finger makes it. She’s like a professor giving a lecture, which is wonderful combined with her personality.

“It was flaky and moist!” which could also be said of Murai on a rainy day, I suppose. :p

  3. Ellemerr says:

Hm. Maybe I should try eating fish shadow, sometime! I like things that are “moist”. Like cake! (Anyway, this cake is great, it’s so delicious and moist. ~ Still Alive, from Portal. ^_^)

  4. Kali says:

This should be ever educational for shadowchild.
Ellemerr… bestest theme song ever 🙂

  5. Jon says:

Y’know, it suddenly makes sense why Herne is so very not freaked the hell out by the kid. I mean…centaurified.

  6. Nyktipolos says:

Hey man, plants have spirits too. (Dryads can get seriously pissy)

I love Shadowchild with each strip he is in. <333

  7. BunnyRock says:

Ellemerr, awesome song. I’m recording a Punk-Ska cover version of “Still alive” as a project at the moment. it’s either that or write my Dissertation.

  8. Barry says:

    RE: Still Alive
Jonathan Coulton rules. He is, to the world of music, what Ursula is to the world of Webcomics, IMHO.

  9. Henry says:

I happened to be eating fish while I was reading this 🙂 Mine didn’t talk either.

  10. TekServer says:

    > Mine didn’t talk either.

Are you sure it wasn’t doing an interpretive dance?

    😉

  11. StinkyOldBear says:

He or she or it, Nyktipolos. Shadowchild has yet to be given a specific pronoun, other than it, to the best of my memory. /shrug

  12. jaynee says:

OMG, Tek! INTERPRETIVE DANCE!!! And we just thought they were flopping about like … well … fish out of water…

  13. JET73L says:

Look at me still talking when there’s science to do… Thanks, Ellemerr (I’ll let you decide of that was sarcasm or not. It was certainly wry).

It’s interesting how Murai compared Shadowchild eating the shadows to a god eating the essence of a sacrifice, for far too many reasons to list without actually putting them in list format.

…Now I want to run trials to see how Shadowchild’s interpretation of shadows’ tastes relates to carnivores’, omnivores’, and herbivores’ interpretations of the tastes of the remaining flesh, and (thanks to my ongoing years as an experimental chef) if you could “cook” for Shadowchild by having it attempt to consume the shadows of several things of varying flavor at the same time.

  14. Ellemerr says:

Well, JET73L, at least it’s come back to bite me now. “That was a joke, HAHA”. And that song is sticky like slug-slime. *sigh*

And I still want to taste fish shadow. *shifty eyes*
