She’s saying, once adopted as her daughter, she’ll be her brother’s niece (if her brothers were alive at any rate).

She’s the leader of the tribe; in as much as hyenas have lawyers, I think I she’s already been one at some point.
Niece/Nephew and Uncle/Aunt are very important relations in most tribal societies.
