Digger is very much like Vimes…
They become the best of what they are, largely through utterly despising everything everything it’s supposed to stand for.
Nobility, Authority, Gods… “Power best belongs in the hands of the one that does not seek it”, I believe.
Mmmm Vimes… Although I’ve always felt like any character that reminds me of Vimes reminds me even more of Virgil Sams (Doc Smith / Triplanetary.) Then again, Sams didn’t have to deal with Gods, not even a little bit.

Maybe Carrot would be a better description then?
No, I think she’s more like Vimes. Especially the attitude towards gods.

Yes, Digger is like Vimes, and Boneclaw Mother is like Veternari.
I *do* hope Digger is dismissed, and then, as she starts walking out, Boneclaw goes, “Oh, and one more thing…”
Um…who’s Vimes? Is this another Pratchett reference?
Samuel Vimes is the Commander of the Watch from Discworld, leading character in Pratchett’s City Watch “series”. 😀
Thank you Sil! Yet another reason for me to read the Discworld books.
She actually has the same attitude as Vimes when it comes to magic.
Disturbing thought, does “Mother-of-Earthquakes” have a connection to Wombats, or Digger in paticular?
*Mother of earth quakes lights another stick of dynamite and retreats up the mine shaft to hide behind some bracing…
I think she means the dead (sleeping) god
Yay Discworld!
