Seems a pretty safe assumption to me. After all, we’ve only seen one Major Character who’s currently having a lot of blood extracted. Unless there is another as yet unrevealed Major Character (very unlikely, I would think), the dead god is the only real possibility.
Hmmmm….Only come out at night, no body heat, sustained by blood…..Are these vampires, ghouls, or something similar?

I’ve had this theory for a while. After all, they had to have a motive for the pumping blood.

I only got this bit of foreshadowing my third or fourth re-reading of this comic. The word “blood” on this page is a big hint.
Having just watched the end of Angel, I can’t help but think “Can you pick out the one word there you probably shouldn’t have said?”
