  1. Rags says:

What would a shrew do with a billy goat anyway?

Or rather, what would the billy goat do to the shrew?

  2. Archangel Beth says:

This is Lady Surka we’re talking about here. The billy goat would do whatever the shrew told it to, or the billy goat would be something’s lunch.

  3. BunnyRock says:

i feel obliged to re-apply the comment i added to this page on the old Digger website…

“Oh goody. This is going to be like when my sister, ex and current girlfriend were stuck in that car together all over again…”

  4. anonyGirl says:

To Rags: “Uh … Collect more?”

[This was the answer provided by a young baby dragon named George, in a RIFTS role-playing game. He and his friends approached a lone frontier city in the post-apocalypse wilderness. Out of the city comes a limousine from which emerges a dwarf, the city’s mayor and protector, who then offers the players’ party the whole town. (The players didn’t know or realize at this time that horrible things had already been happening to the town for a while, or that the mayor put two and twelve together when he saw a huge Battletech-type mecha — actually the sentient robot Corwin — and an even more huge green dragon and maybe a few smaller things buzzing around them approaching from the horizon. The offer, giving up the city peacefully, was the mayor’s best thought for saving his people and their homes.) Friendly offer it seemed, so George, always both naive and very forthright, said, “Sure, thanks!” with a big — huge and toothy, really — grin. Corwin, very mature and wiser in the ways of the world asked reasonably, “George, what would you *do* with the town if he gave it to you?” A moment’s tense thought, then enlightenment. “Uh … Collect More?” With a strangled skin lizard sound, the dwarf fainted.]

  5. Beacon80 says:

anonyGirl, assuming I A) find a place for it in one of my stories and B) actually managed to get published, could I steal that from you?
On the A part, my mind’s already starting to form a story of a young dragon who terrorizes/saves the world without ever really meaning to do either.

  6. TekServer says:

The best gaming sessions (in any system) can always make good starting points for a good book. (In the hands of a good author, of course … )

    😉

  7. Fixer-Wolfie says:

Hey there Grim-Eyes! Lovely day isn’t it?

  8. Kisame says:

Shouldn’t trolls be under the bridge? or at least stay to guard it?

  9. Areetsasaurus says:

I think you’d have a hard time keeping a troll under that bridge while also having it close enough to investigate strange noises. Well, maybe not, if you had a lot of milk crates for it to stand on, but I’d imagine it’d be a rather hair-raising experience for said troll. Assuming it has hair, and isn’t just an honorary troll.

  10. Fred says:

What do you mean, what would the shrew do with a billy goat? It’s traditional. It doesn’t have to serve any greater purpose beyond that.

  11. werepixi says:

@BunnyRock – I try to imagine that scenario and my brain shuts down at the concept. I don’t know what would be worse out of them all fighting each other…or if they ended up friends

You must kicked a lot of puppies in a past life to have that karma drop on you

  12. BunnyRock says:

@ werepixi: the puppies started it! Actually, it plaid out, well… pretty much how this bit plays out within the context of the Digger epic.

On an unrelated note, Ursula explains very well why trolls and goats have their racial animosity somewhere in her Red Wombat Studios site, but i seem to have lost the link.

  13. Ellemerr says:

Oooh, ooh, let me, let me! I know the link! It’s right here: http://www.redwombatstudio.com/wpg2?g2_itemId=914

There are more pictures of trolls with more info about them as well as tons of other neat stuff in the RedWombatStudio, but I think this one is the one BunnyRock was thinking about. ^_^
