You know, they’re cute… until I remember that some of the earlier pages I can see that the other skins are stitched right onto the ones that they were presumably born with.
The last panel is indeed marvelous here. If you analyze the strokes that make it up, it’s really quite simple. But then you let the overall picture click into place in your brain, and it’s not simple at all; it’s a wonderfully complex underground panorama.

I can’t help but keep thinking that… in some weird way… those lizards are so dang cute.
I wonder if the non-dead-skin parts of them are pink?
Joining in the weirdness, but I think the lizards would make cool stuffed animals with different textures for the different types of skin.
