No great loss? Oh come on Hands up who would want to be able to move about on a slime trail if you were a statue of a divinity? who wouldn’t! The sight of a statue of Ganesha gracefully slimeing it way up the street at a stately two miles an hour dispensing infinite unconditional compaction and a fine antiseptic mucus as it went would be a site to see.
The Hermaphroditic reproduction would be quite impressive too, for a statue.
The first time I read, I rushed through the comic trying to absorb all the plot points and dialogue. I’m so glad that now I have time to re-read, I take the time to read the discussion panel too, because the things you guys always add more to the story (:
Reading through again for the first time in a while. Statue’s line in the last panel here may be my favorite quote from Digger, but there’s a lot of competition.
I dunno… compacting a roadway just sounds like a public service, and I suspect that a flat-bottomed partially-stone statue moving via a slime trail would do good things for the smoothness of many types of non-Roman-quality primitive roads.
Really, the statue has some good lines.
“Well, the psychic sensitivies of gastropods are well documented.” Hee
Last panel is my favorite of the entire comic.
I’m still laughing.
That last panel makes me snort every time I read it 🙂
I must remember to never read this page when I have a stuffy nose…

Ouch.
I really have to start remembering to put down my coffee before reading your posts, BunnyRock.
😉
I try not to drink anything while reading anything with any connection to Ursula. My sinuses thank me. 😉

I love the unintentional triple rhyme in the fourth panel, you know, where Digger’s doing her impression of a polar bear in a snowstorm.
I’m glad I wans’t drinking anything when I read that last panel. Priceless.
” … dispensing infinite unconditional compaction … ”
Took me 3 year to notice THAT inadvertent word choice in BunnyRock’s post, and thus conjure an entirely different mental image.
I’m sure I still have some of that old brain bleach around here somewhere …
😯

I finally figured out who’s voice I hear in my head for the statue. It’s Michael Gambon, aka Dumbledore from the third Harry Potter movie on.
