Yeah, and liver is not particularly popular even among omnivores and carnivores; the chances of an herbivore choking it down and keeping it down are virtually nil.

    (Course, I actually like liver … )

    😉

  2. Typo: ‘fo’ for ‘for’.

  3. Kelardry says:

    I love the file name “Wombat405Lunch” 😉

  4. Trogdog says:

    …or maybe it’s ebonics.

  5. Arrkhal says:

I can’t believe no one’s said anything about grokking Skull Ridges’s essence! For shame, people.

  6. JET73L says:

That’s probably because this isn’t really the context for grok, unless you’re using one of the slang meanings with which I am not familiar.

You don’t have to digest it, Digger, just don’t throw it up (yet)! At least it’s not all cooked and tough. I’m lactose intolerant (or at least have some sort of dairy allergy, it varies from mild displeasure to severe pain and complete, involuntary rejection based on what the dairy product is) and will eat and drink dairy products that I know will make me quite ill for social purposes. It’s not a perfect analogy, but it kind of works, I think.

  7. The Procrastinator says:

JET37L: If I remember correctly, this would fit one of the (implied) meanings of ‘grok’ in Heinlein’s ‘Stranger in a Strange Land’, from which the word (as far as I know) originates.

  8. Arrkhal says:

Cannibalism is definitely one of the meanings for grok. At least in the whatchamacallit edition. Can’t say if it was in the heavily-cut edition, since I never read that one.

  9. Silver Guardian says:

@Arrkhal: It’s possible that Boneclaw Mother mentioned it during the “Blah Blah” portion of the speech, two pages back.
