  1. Cutest image of the Shadowchild EVER.

  2. dareon says:

    Awwwww.

  3. Woden says:

Does anyone else find it humorously paradoxical that a living shadow is capable of beaming?

  4. Kayru says:

Better hope Murai’s not around… looks like the darkness is shining. =3

  5. Adreth says:

    Darkness shines?

  6. Haven says:

    *Beam!*

  7. jake says:

    it’s a beam of darkness!!!

  8. Eagle0600 says:

Why? Why is stopping the Hyenas from eating a good thing? They have to eat. If not you, then some other poor soul. In the end, all you do by saving yourself is damn another.

  9. TekServer says:

    > Does anyone else find it humorously paradoxical that a living shadow is capable of beaming?
I was thinking almost those exact words! ๐Ÿ˜‰

@Eagle0600: It’s not stopping the Hyenas from eating in general that Digger praised; it was stopping them from eating Digger specifically – a thinking, talking creature – that she was praising.
There’s no doubt that self-interest plays at least a small part in Digger’s thought processes. IMHO, that can be generalized to say that self-interest ALWAYS plays at least a small part in morality – otherwise, it wouldn’t work.

I think I’ll just set that philosophical grenade down there and walk away briskly …

  10. veneyeth says:

    Loves the beaming

  11. Mark Antony says:

@TekServer Make sure you double-check your numbers when you set that thing. ๐Ÿ˜‰

  12. Jenora Feuer says:

Well, yes, so much of morality is based on enlightened self-interest, when you get right down to it.

The enlightened part comes in when you realize that a smoothly-running society tends to make things better for all its members, even if it places a few requirements on its members as well. It’s easier to get forward when the people around you are less likely to stab you in the back…

  13. BunnyRock says:

“Beams of darkness streak across the sky, signals from the ancient satellite.”

dammit, now i”m going to have Clutch songs stuck in my head all day.

  14. Trogdog says:

Lol. decided to YT clutch on a whim, and hit that song first try. It’s um, interesting. Kinda Queens of the Stone age meets Rage against the machine as a southern metal bar band. not really to my taste, but cool anyway.

  15. Murasaki says:

“Truth is like morality. There is no fact, only interpretation.”
All in all, I rather like diggers intrepretation of morality.

And I LOVE the beaming Shadowchild.

  16. Matanui3 says:

    SHADOW BEEEEEEEEEAMMMM!!

  17. werepixi says:

@Tekserver You can’t just leave that sort of stuff lying around. At least gives us a warning cry. Maybve something along the lines of ” Philosopher in the hole”

  18. BunnyRock says:

@werepixi: I love the possibilities of a “philosopher in the hole”.

“Whatโ€™s that werepixi? A 17th century French philosopher was leading his pack-pony along and he’s fallen down the old well? And his pony fell down on top of him and crushed him? Well ‘Pix, thatโ€™s what you get for putting Descartes before the horse.”

*Runs and Hides in shame whilst El-ahrairant fights of the Pun Police*

  19. Lord the 22nd says:

Does anyone else think that Shadowchild looks like it was drawn by Dr. Sues in that last panel?

  20. MojoQuestor says:

@Lord the 22nd: Now that you mention it…

  21. Ellemerr says:

It’s official: “To shadowbeam” is now an acceptable part of the vocabulary, and it’s -adorable-.

  22. Mental Mouse says:

And this should be the companion poster to the previous page.
